If you feel a chill in the air, it’s not just due to the cooling autumn temperatures—it’s because this is also the time of the year where the Lake George Area celebrates all things frightening, bone-chilling, and just straight-up spooky.

During the months of September, and especially October, the communities in and around Lake George become a welcome spot for all sorts of ghouls, goblins, and just about anything paranormal you can think of. Whether you’re taking a look around some historically haunted locations, or attending one of the many Halloween-themed events, there’s something for all ages to look forward to—if you dare.

Creepy Atmospheres

One thing for visitors to take note of is that the Lake George Area holds a lot of history—especially haunted history! In fact, we happen to be featured multiple times in New York State’s Haunted History Trail.

Across distinct locales around the area, there are eerie tales passed down throughout generations. Whether these stories hold any truths to them remains unknown, but that’s where the fun lies.

• Lake George Battlefield Park - An historic battle site during the French & Indian War, along with possible phantom spirits lurking around.
