America’s Best Restaurants – “King of the Hotdogs” New Way Lunch Episode (2023)
In an episode titled “King of the Hotdogs", America’s Best Restaurants features New Way Lunch as part of their series dedicated to “traveling the country coast to coast to find places you need to eat at on a weekly basis”. Serving our community for over 100 years, New Way Lunch’s Glens Falls location is the focus, although they do have a second location in Queensbury as well.
What started as the “American Dream”, family-owned and operated New Way Lunch has been passed down through four generations. Since 1919, customers keep coming back for their famous “Dirt Dogs”. These hot dogs with “the works” – mustard, onions, and meat sauce – are just one of the menu items tried in the episode, and a staple in the Lake George Area local’s diet. In fact, they sold so many hot dogs the previous year that, when asked, they couldn’t even put a number on it.
“We have this little niche,” commented current owner, Peter Gazetos, on the loyalty of his customers. “People haven’t forgotten about us, and they come from all over. We are very fortunate.”
