Dozens of hot air balloons float over the mountains at the Adirondack Balloon Festival!

Hot air balloonists from across the United States and around the world have gathered in the Lake George Area during fall for over 40 years. Floating high above the majestic Adirondack Mountains is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that professional balloonists and amateur adventurers get to experience every single year.

This stunning festival features a wide variety of hot air balloons. You'll see the typical round and colorful balloons, as well as some balloons shaped in ways you would never expect. Come out and watch these vibrant balloons take to the sky in an array of colors and decorations.

The main events of the Adirondack Balloon Festival take place Saturday and Sunday at the Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport. Take part in lots of family fun, activities, and entertainment throughout the Festival. The famous Big Balloon Breakfast is served in the hangar on Saturday and Sunday morning.

The Adirondack Balloon Festival's opening ceremonies take place at Crandall Park in Glens Falls on Thursday afternoon. The opening ceremonies feature live music, children's activities, food vendors, and the flight of up to 20 hot air balloons (wind and weather permitting).

On Thursday evening the City of Glens Falls Block Party takes place on Glen Street in downtown Glens Falls. Enjoy the live music, balloon baskets on display, the car show, and fun children's activities.

2019 Balloon Festival Parking information. Northeast Hot Air RV'ers has available RV parking at the Festival. All RVs must be self-contained.

  • All ballooning flight times including the lift-offs, Airport Moonglow, and all activities are wind and weather permitting.
  • NO DOGS ALLOWED (this is for their safety and our visitors as well).

Thursday, September 19th

Thursday's Adirondack Balloon Festival schedule:

  • Musical Performance - 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. - Live music featuring The Lustre Kings in Crandall Park on Upper Glen Street in Glens Falls.
  • Opening Ceremonies - 5:00 p.m. - Don't miss the official kick-off of the 2019 Adirondack Balloon Festival! The opening ceremony includes food vendors and activities for kids.
  • Flight of up to 20 balloons - 5:15 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.  - The balloon launch is weather and wind conditions permitting.
  • Post-Ceremony Glens Falls Block Party - 6:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.  - The block party takes place in downtown Glens Falls on Glen Street. Enjoy more music, family-friendly activities, balloon baskets on display, the car show, and kid’s activities!
Friday, September 20th

Friday's Adirondack Balloon Festival schedule:

  • Gates Open - 3:00 p.m. -  Enjoy live music by Kevin McKrell and Orion Kribs, kid's activities, food vendors, and the Zonta Craft Fair at the Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport.
  • Balloon Launch - 5:00 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. - Witness the flight of up to 100 hot air balloons, including special shapes. The balloon launch is weather and wind conditions permitting.
Saturday, September 21st

Saturday's Adirondack Balloon Festival Schedule:

  • Craft Fair and Family Activities - 4:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. - Food vendors open for business, Craft Fair hosted by ZONTA with 40+ vendors, kid's activities, including bounce houses, crafts, games and more.
  • Big Balloon Breakfast - 5:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. - In the hangar at Floyd Bennet Memorial Airport. Bring your appetite and enjoy the All-You-Can-Eat Big Balloon Breakfast! Pancakes, eggs, french toast, sausage, juice, milk, and coffee. $10.00 adults, $8.00 seniors, $6.00 children. Gluten free options available.
  • Early Morning Balloon Launch - 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. -  Watch the flight of up to 100 hot air balloons, including special shapes. The balloon launch is weather and wind conditions permitting.
  • Live Music - 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. -  Musical performances by Pluck & Rail and The High Peaks Bluegrass Band.
  • Evening Hot Air Balloon Launch - 5:00 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. -  Gaze at the spectacular flight of up to 100 hot air balloons, including special shapes. The balloon launch is weather and wind conditions permitting.
  • Lighting Up The Night: Airport Moonglow - 8:00 p.m.  - Features the flight of up to 30+ balloons with the backdrop of the night sky. Bring your flashlights! The balloon launch is weather and wind conditions permitting.
Sunday, September 22nd

Sunday's Adirondack Balloon Festival Schedule:

  • Catholic Mass - 8:00 a.m. - Service to be held in the Entertainment Tent.
  • Protestant Sunday Service - 9:00 a.m. - Service to be held in the Entertainment Tent.

Closing ceremonies:

  • Musical Performance - 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. - Live music at Crandall Park featuring Across the Pond. Food vendors and kid's activities.
  • Balloon Launch - 5:00 p.m. -  Flight of up to 20 balloons from Crandall Park. The balloon launch is weather and wind conditions permitting.
