Event season never stops in the Lake George Area. Winter carnivals and ice bars kick the year off, honoring cold winter weather with a flurry. As spring rolls around, events take advantage of the warmer weather to celebrate fresh maple syrup and other Adirondack traditions. Groups head to Lake George Village every summer for legendary annual events that salute cars, music, and fireworks. The annual fun rolls into autumn, as fall festivals and Oktoberfests shine a light on craft beers and colorful foliage. In the Lake George Area, events are the reason for the season.
Every memorable vacation has a story to be told
Usually, the story that people tell after a Lake George Area getaway begins with attending an awesome event. Sometimes these people love cars and motorcycles, so their tales are about guided rides along beautiful Adirondack roads at Americade or spending a long weekend admiring classic cars and trucks at the Adirondack Nationals Car Show.
Often, the stories are about novel experiences, like watching a pre-dawn liftoff of over 100 unique hot air balloons at the Adirondack Balloon Festival or taking part in an outhouse race with a group of new friends at the Lake George Winter Carnival.
A lot of these stories involve a Memorial Day or Fourth of July barbecue by the lake, a marathon along offbeat roads, and boom after blast of colorful fireworks over the Adirondacks. Local town parks host arts and crafts festivals, live music can be heard in outdoor amphitheaters, and even the King himself comes to town for a few days. Carnivals, festivals and fairs, and shows all have a place in the Lake George Area.
Every annual event contributes to someone’s story. It’s time for you to write your own chapter.
