Tent camping has been a Lake George Area fixture for decades. You can camp in towns in every corner of the region and pitch a tent at several different styles of campgrounds. Tent sites make for basic, laid back camping, allowing you to completely relax and dive into the Adirondack wilderness.

Swim in the lake at an alluring beach, or leave the campground to conquer a hike or explore an amusement park. Basic public campgrounds allow you to set up camp and then explore the region’s top attractions. You can hit the beach or go mini-golfing by day and return to the campfire every night. Island camping is the Lake George Area’s most serene choice for tent camping, accessible only by boat. Amenity-rich private campgrounds offer tent sites and access to endless fun and attractions. Many RV parks allow for tents as well as having full RV hookups.

Staying at a tent site is a cinch so you can spend most of your vacation enjoying the Lake George Area.

Tin Teepee Campground

Tin Teepee Family Campground has 75 large full hook up camp sites which include 50 amp electric service, septic, water, and cable. There is also have a heated cabin for rent. We have special theme weekends planned throughout the season and plenty of onsite activities throughout the week for the entire family. Swim in our big beautiful outdoor pool, rent a boat for the afternoon, join us for movie night or borrow one of our board games for a relaxing family night by the fire.

Lake George Campsites

Camping on 250 open and wooded acres. For camping vacation we offer rustic tent sites, no hook-up, water/electric and full hook-up RV sites. Swimming pool, recreation room, camp store, horseshoes, volleyball, basketball, playground, pet friendly, cable TV and laundry facilities. A short drive takes you to area attractions, restaurants and recreational activities in the historic region of Lake George.

Scaroon Manor State Campground

Accessible campground and day use area located on the west shore of Schroon Lake on Taylor's Point. Fishing pier, picnic area, picnic pavilion, swimming beach. All sites provide mobility impaired accessibility for people of all abilities with accessibly designed ring fireplaces, picnic tables and smooth, hardened surfaces to ease mobility for those with wheelchairs or walking aids. 60 sites, 2 with tent platforms. Come camping on Fourth Lake! Luzerne State Campground has 174 tent and trailer sites. Amenities include hot showers, flush toilets, a trailer dump station, fireplaces, and charcoal grills. Campers can swim, canoe, kayak, and fish on Fourth Lake, which is partially surrounded by the campground. No motor boats are allowed on the lake, creating a peaceful and quiet atmosphere.

Thirteenth Lake

Get in touch with nature at Thirteenth Lake! Thirteenth lake in North River is a backwoods experience minus the hike. An accessible gravel path leads from the parking lot to a canoe launch, where you'll have a chance at landing brook trout, brown trout, rainbow trout, and landlocked salmon.

Hearthstone Point State Campground

Camping on the shores of Lake George! Guests can pitch their tent on one of 251 tent and trailer sites a mere two miles north of the Village of Lake George. There are 13 handicapped accessible campsites as well.
