Tent camping has been a Lake George Area fixture for decades. You can camp in towns in every corner of the region and pitch a tent at several different styles of campgrounds. Tent sites make for basic, laid back camping, allowing you to completely relax and dive into the Adirondack wilderness.

Swim in the lake at an alluring beach, or leave the campground to conquer a hike or explore an amusement park. Basic public campgrounds allow you to set up camp and then explore the region’s top attractions. You can hit the beach or go mini-golfing by day and return to the campfire every night. Island camping is the Lake George Area’s most serene choice for tent camping, accessible only by boat. Amenity-rich private campgrounds offer tent sites and access to endless fun and attractions. Many RV parks allow for tents as well as having full RV hookups.

Staying at a tent site is a cinch so you can spend most of your vacation enjoying the Lake George Area.

Adirondack Camping Village

Adirondack Camping Village has something for everyone in a rustic mountain setting. Large secluded private tent camping; RV sites with full hookups; camping cabins, and pet friendly, pets must be leashed. Pharaoh Lake Wilderness Region

This 46,283-acre wilderness includes an abundance of lakes, ponds, streams, mountains, and hiking trails that are open to the public. The over 70 miles of hiking trails range from easy to difficult. Pharaoh Mountain, the highest mountain in the preserve, is found on the shores of Pharaoh Lake, the largest lake in the preserve.

Lake George Campsites

Camping on 250 open and wooded acres. For camping vacation we offer rustic tent sites, no hook-up, water/electric and full hook-up RV sites. A short drive takes you to area attractions, restaurants and recreational activities in the historic region of Lake George. We are within walking distance to Six Flags Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom.

Dagget Lake Campsites

Located on 400 acres of mountains, fields, streams and a private lake in the Adirondacks ~ quiet, remote and only minutes from Lake George. We are Pet friendly - dogs even have their own swimming beach and we have hiking trails for you and your dog to enjoy.

Luzerne State Campground

Come camping on Fourth Lake! Luzerne State Campground has 174 tent and trailer sites. Amenities include hot showers, flush toilets, a trailer dump station, fireplaces, and charcoal grills. Campers can swim, canoe, kayak, and fish on Fourth Lake, which is partially surrounded by the campground. No motor boats are allowed on the lake, creating a peaceful and quiet atmosphere.

Lake George Islands Campsites

Choose from 387 shoreline campsites located on 44 state owned islands. 85 sites are located in the Narrow Island Group (Mother Bunch Group), 170 sites and 42 cruiser sites are in the Glen Island Group (The Narrows), and 90 sites are on Long Island. The 42 cruiser sites are for large boats with sleeping quarters. 25 sites in the Glen Island Group are located on the mainland but are accessible by boat only. Most sites are well forested and private.

Hearthstone Point State Campground

Camping on the shores of Lake George! Guests can pitch their tent on one of 251 tent and trailer sites a mere two miles north of the Village of Lake George. There are 13 handicapped accessible campsites as well.
