"What is Americade?"
The Americade Motorcycle Touring Rally is regarded as one of the grandest motorcycle events in the country. Americade began in May 1983, originally known as Aspencade East, a nod to another motorcycle rally in Ruidoso, New Mexico. The rally was eventually renamed Americade in 1986 to celebrate the reality of what the event had become—a multi-faceted celebration of all things motorcycles. And by this point, Americade had become, and still remains, one of the largest motorcycle touring rallies in the world.
Fun Fact: Americade's tradeshow was originally held at the nearby City of Glens Falls's Civic Center, now named Harding Mazzotti Arena, before being moved to Lake George Village.
If you love motorcycles, there's no doubt that you'll love Americade. There’s a reason why people travel from all over the country to the Lake George Area every year: there’s absolutely nothing like this event. A morning stroll in the early hours down the streets of Lake George Village brings you by hundreds of unique motorcycles and their owners. Attendees could spend several days strolling the sidewalks and talking motorcycles.
Since this is a multi-brand convention, the varying tastes of motorcycle riders all have a place to call home. You can find Harley Davidsons, Hondas, Yamahas, and everything else on the streets of Lake George Village during the event.

Expo and Demos
If you’re at Americade looking for a new motorcycle or some new gear, you’re probably not going home empty-handed. One of the event's most highly anticipated happenings is the Americade Expo—a massive 300,000-square-foot walkable expo, located in the center of Lake George Village along Beach Road and the Festival Commons at Charles R. Wood Park.
Here, enthusiasts get to explore a wide assortment of companies offering the latest and greatest motorcycle gear and accessories. Feel free to look, try, and buy thousands of products and customize your ride. The expo occurs daily during Americade, and FREE parking is provided along Beach Road.
Brands often in attendance include:
- Aprilia
- BMW
- Harley Davidson
- Honda
- Suzuki
- Vespa
- Yamaha
- and many more!
Pro Tip: Make sure to check out the Demo & Display area, located next door from the Expo at the Fort William Henry Hotel. If you would like to demo a bike, make sure you bring the proper gear and licenses.
