Outdoors

Natural beauty sets the stage for a Lake George Area vacation. Fun and recreation are always mere minutes away. If the mountains and forests call to you, hundreds of miles of trails are waiting to be explored and conquered. If you prefer lower elevations, fishing, biking, and golf are all over the region in marvelous settings. Winter warriors have seemingly endless freedom to ice fish, snowmobile, and hit the slopes. This vacation is an adventure waiting to happen.

The Adirondack Park is an inviting natural paradise begging to be discovered.

Illustrious peaks and hushed forests are sculpted into Adirondack playgrounds, where hikers and snowshoers can take peaceful strolls through the woods or test their limits on ambitious climbs. Those who are partial to the lakes and rivers can troll the waters for lake trout or landlocked salmon, or stand in a quiet stream and fish the Adirondacks in tranquility. Trail riders have several options. The Warren County Bikeway is a beautifully secluded path from Lake George to Glens Falls. Mountain bikers can venture on trails and jumps at Gore Mountain. For more of a mental challenge in the great outdoors, golfers can hit the links and attempt to master any of nine golf courses, all set within an Adirondack backdrop.

When winter rolls around, skiers and snowboarders can crash through glade runs and carve down cruisers at two top tier mountains. Cross country skiers will love exploring the fantastic Nordic complex in North Creek. Once the waterways freeze solid, ice anglers and ice skaters can fish and glide on ice throughout the region. Snowmobilers have their pick of four different trail systems supported by local clubs.

There’s a lot to do outdoors in the Lake George Area. Make sure to catch your breath.
