The Lake George Winter Carnival has celebrated Adirondack family fun every winter since 1961.

Every Saturday and Sunday in February, winter enthusiasts flock to Lake George Village to watch, support, and participate in the cook-offs, races, tournaments, games and other activities on the ice and around the village.
Every Saturday in February ends with a fireworks show over Lake George at 7:00pm.
Pre-sale is available online for Cook-off tickets and souvenir mugs! Cook-off tickets and mugs will be available the day of the event ONLY if they do not sell out first. Cook-off tickets can be purchased online here. Souvenir mugs can be purchased online here.

The Opening Ceremonies and the parade along Canada Street take place on the first weekend kicking off the annual Carnival!
More fun and lively entertainment include Outhouse Races, Cook-offs, 4×4 truck races, an ATV Poker run, ice diving demonstrations, the Glacier Golf Tournament, and so much more!

Saturday, February 4
518 Jeepin’ Duck Hunt – Info coming soon!
- 9:00am – 518 Jeepin’ Duck Hunt Scavenger Hunt – At The Brasserie – Come join 518 Jeepin’ for a Winter Duck Hunt! Participants will be given clues to places in Warren County, NY. Hunt down your locations and find those ducks! $500 Grand Prize! Multiple award categories (Other award amounts and prizes to be determined by # of participants and donations) Hunt begins at 9am. Participants may participate in parade (3:30 line up) at Tiki Resort. Registration can be done online.
- 10:00am – 12:00pm – Story Time at Caldwell Library
- 12:00pm – Opening Ceremonies: Join us to celebrate the 61st year of the Lake George Winter Carnival! Blessing and speech, by local dignitaries, will be held on MacDonald Pier in Shepard Park.
- 12:45pm – Chili Cook-Off (served till gone!): It’s the first cook-off of the season, and a fan favorite! Try chili from various Lake George restaurants, and vote for your favorite to help crown the winner! It’s a great way to warm up on a chili winter day. (This event has a fee and can be purchased in advance online.)
- 1:00pm – Outhouse Races: “Don’t miss this LGWC tradition where SH*% really happens!” This is a must-see event in Lake George Battlefield Park. Registration begins at 9:30am at The Lagoon (518) 685-5009. It’ll be $2000 in prizes! Registration can also be done online.
- 2:00pm-4:00pm – Make Your Own Snow Tie-Dyed Lake George Winter Carnival T-Shirts: A family favorite! A fun and unique way to make tie-dye in the snow. This event is while supplies and snow last, and takes place at the Tie-Dye Booth in Shepard Park. (This event has a fee).
- 4:00pm – Lake George Winter Carnival Annual Parade: Time to officially kick off the weekend celebrations! The parade bends at the Tiki Resort, travels north on Canada Street, and ends at Amherst Street. If you’re interested in being part of the parade, send an email to LGWC411@gmail.com
- 5:30pm – S’mores in the Park (till no ‘mores!): Enjoy this ooey-gooey treat while keeping warm in front of the fire at Shepard Park Amphitheater.
- 5:30pm – Hot Chocolate Bar (till gone!): Purchase a Lake George Winter Carnival souvenir mug, and put all of your favorite toppings on your hot chocolate! Located at the Shepard Park Amphitheater. Mug pre-sale option is happening now online! A limited number of mugs will be available for sale on the day of the event.
- 7:00pm – Fireworks over the Queen of American Lakes!
Sunday, February 5
- 10:00am – 12:00pm – Family Winter Carnival Bowling at Lake George Lanes & Games (Fee/$)
- 10:00am – 12:00pm – Paint and Sip at Blue Thirty-Two. Multiple flavors of fruit mimosas and painting instruction. $35 per person, brunch menu additional. Registration can be done online.
- 12:30pm – Sundae Fun Day & Karaoke/Open Mic (till gone): Stewart’s Ice cream with all of your favorite toppings! (Donations appreciated). Grab a mic and sing your heart out on stage at the Shepard Park Amphitheater. Bring an instrument or sing a long with friends at LG Live Karaoke.
- 1:00pm – “Do you wanna build a cupcake?” (till gone!): Make a cupcake with bakers and decorators from Lake George Baking Company.
- 3:00pm-4:00pm Do You Wanna Build a Snowman Contest: Bring the whole family to compete for the 2023 LGWC Best Snowman Builder crown! You’re given a snowman kit and 30 minutes to build. Sign up at the Info Booth in Shepard Park. (This event has a fee, and limited kits are available.) This event is snow dependent.
- 3:30pm – “I am Woman! Hear me Roar!” Lake George Winter Carnival’s Woman’s Skillet Toss: Join or cheer on the 4th annual event! All ages are welcome and must sign up at the Info Booth in Shepard Park by 3:15pm. Prize for winner.
- 4:00pm – Warm Up Keg Toss: Test your strength! $50 gift certificate for the winner. Sign up at the Info Booth in Shepard Park by 3:45pm.

- All Day – Bonfire at the Beach: Warm up on the beach in Shepard Park.
- 12:00pm-5:00pm – The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile: The 27 Foot long Wienermobile and Oscar Mayer’s Team of Hot Dogger’s will be on hand to help “relish” this year’s Lake George Winter Carnival! Snap a pic, look for the Wienermobile in the parade, and sing the jingle with other hot dog fans.
- 12:00pm-3:00pm – Children’s Activities: Arts & crafts, and games in Shepard Park and the Courtyard by Marriott.
- 12:00pm-3:00pm – Pony rides in Shepard Park. (For a fee).
- 2:30pm – Lake George Dog’s Got Talent Contest: Enter your pups in this crowd favorite event! Prizes for those who get the most applause. Located at Shepard Park.
- 3:00pm – Polar Plunge: Are you up for the challenge to plunge into the frigid waters of Lake George? Plunge and registration will be held at Info Booth in Shepard Park, and you must register by 2:45pm. Registration can be done online.
