With the arrival of spring and the flowing of sap the Adirondack tradition of maple syrup production begins. Celebrate with us at our all-you-can-eat buffet. Dessert is old-fashioned jackwax, made from pure local maple syrup. Jackwax parties have been held by North Country folks forever, and this confection, it has been said, probably originated with the Native Americans. Musical entertainment by area musicians. The Town of Thurman has held a Jack Wax party for 58 years. Our Maple Sugar Party has continued the tradition of hosting the meal as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society to help those with this disease. Be sure to visit our maple producers, Valley Road Maple Farm, Adirondack Gold Maple Farm, Toad Hill Maple Farm and Hidden Hollow Maple Farm on Maple Days March 11-12; March 18-19 and March 25-26, 2017. Thurman is located just 20 minutes from Lake George via I-87, Adirondack Northway.
