Explore the Adirondack wilderness around Pharaoh Lake!
This 46,283-acre wilderness includes an abundance of lakes, ponds, streams, mountains, and hiking trails that are open to the public.
The over 70 miles of hiking trails range from easy to difficult. Pharaoh Mountain, the highest mountain in the preserve, is found on the shores of Pharaoh Lake, the largest lake in the preserve. These trails are great for snowshoeing.
Brook trout, lake trout, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, sunfish, and other species can be found in the various lakes and ponds in the preserve. When the lakes and ponds freeze they become the perfect spots for ice fishing.
Campers can stay in designated tent sites and lean-tos on a first come, first served basis.
Entrance points at Schroon Lake, Adirondack, and Hague.
