Nicholson Preserve

Nicholson Preserve is the Queensbury Land Conservancy’s latest acquisition, generously donated by the Nicholson family. This preserve contains a 1.5-mile (approx.), meandering loop for just a simple walk in the woods. The trail is flat throughout, on a packed-down bed of leaves and pine needles, just watch your step for exposed tree roots. Very well marked with red trail markers and arrows, it is perfect for kids, pets, and anyone who isn’t a big climber. Great route for winter snowshoeing as well.

This preserve can be found heading west on Luzerne Road, just past the Burnt Ridge development. On the right side of the road, you’ll spot the small gravel parking lot that can fit about 3 or 4 cars. Look for a road sign and interpretive trail markers coming soon.

*If you bring your dog, please keep them leashed. Currently there is no pet waste station, so please pack your own bags to clean up after them.
