The Town of Thurman will make history in 2019. They will celebrate the 60th year of their Jack Wax party.

With the arrival of spring and the flowing of sap the Adirondack tradition of maple syrup production begins. Celebrate spring and maple syrup with us at our all-you-can-eat buffet. Dessert is old-fashioned jackwax, made from pure local maple syrup. Jackwax parties have been held by North Country folks forever, and this confection, it has been said, probably originated with the Native Americans. Musical entertainment by area musicians. Our Maple Sugar Party has continued the tradition of hosting the meal as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society to help those with this disease.

Be sure to visit our maple producers, Valley Road Maple Farm, Adirondack Gold Maple Farm, Toad Hill Maple Farm and Hidden Hollow Maple Farm during Maple Days - March 16-17; March 23-24 and March 30-31.

Town of Thurman residents proclaim they live in a place "where nature is a way of life, and sugaring is second nature".

Thurman is located just 20 minutes from Lake George via I-87, Adirondack Northway. Take exit 23 to New York State Route 9 to State Route 418 and follow the sign posts to see all the sites celebrating spring and maple season!
