For over 40 years the Town of Johnsburg has lit up their town with lights, music, and laughter!
The annual event in North Creek kicks off Friday, December 3 at 5:30pm with the Community Tree Lighting and caroling at River Front Park Overlook (across from the Phoenix Inn). Caroling will be led by Katie Cole Ashe and the Johnsburg Pop Singers, followed by a candlelight service led by our communities' pastors.
North Creek Railway Depot Museum will be offering walk-through tours of "Santa's Christmas Caboose!" Inside the caboose will be a model train with a miniature village, while the exterior will have a festive light display! The caboose will be open to the public for tours Friday, December 3rd 5:30pm-7:00pm. Owens House Gallery & Museum is also being transformed into a delightful Gingerbread House! Homes and businesses will compete in Town of Johnsburg's Light's On decorating contest with cash prizes! The prize is $300 cash in each of these categories: Best residence, best not-for-profit, and best business. To register for the contest please call Town Hall at 518-251-2421 ext 2. Registration deadline is December 10th, and judging will take place December 10th & 11th. The Warren County Planning Department will list the addresses on the county's website so holiday enthusiasts can see your displays. Winners will be announced on December 21!
The 17th Annual Light On Parade will take place Saturday, December 4th at 11:30am. Wave to Santa as he cruises down Main Street! The parade route is from the North Creek Firehouse, past the Tri-County Nursing Home, to the Highway Garage parking lot. Tannery Pond Community Center will be hosting a holiday themed Kid's Art Program on December 4th. Children will be able to pick up the take out art kits from 12:00pm-2:00pm.
Restaurants will be offering "Lights On" specials throughout the weekend, so be sure to grab a bite while you're in town. Fresh Christmas trees and wreaths will also be available in North Creek! Most of the lights will stay on during the ski season, so take a drive through town after a long day of skiing.
Sunday, December 5th at 2:00pm Tannery Pond Community Center presents North Country Singers' A Holiday Celebration. This is a free concert!
