2019 Law Enforcement Weekend is in the planning stage ~ some events have been announced. There will be more to follow so be sure to check back.

Law Enforcement Officer Weekend welcomes all law enforcement officers, active and retired, and their families from across the nation and Canada to Lake George for a fun, relaxing, and informative weekend. The weekend was developed by Officer Austin Glickman while a student in the New York City Police Academy. Law enforcement officers and their families are encouraged to relax, unwind, and meet fellow officers.

Officers and families can take part in seminars, social hours, and family activities, including a luncheon boat cruise, a dinner boat cruise, paintball for ages 10 and older, discount admission to Six Flags Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom, Wild West Ranch and Adirondack Eagle Flyer Zip Line, and Lake George Lanes and Games, a band concert, shopping at the outlets, fireworks, and much more! LEO Weekend also features a memorial service honoring all law enforcement officers.

Friday - June 15, 2018

Friday's LEO Weekend Event Line Up:

  • Registration Opens - 9:00am-12:00pm - Grab your welcome bag at the Fort William Henry lobby and go enjoy Lake George! Hit the beach, have breakfast, and relax in the sun.
  • Registration Continues - 2:00pm-5:30pm - Grab your welcome bag at the Fort William Henry lobby and go enjoy Lake George! Hit the beach, have a bite to eat, and relax in the sun.
  • Photo Ops - 2:00pm-5:30pm - Take photos with and admire vintage police cars at Fort William Henry.
  • Golf Tournament: First Group - 2:00pm - Head to Top of the World Golf Resort for the two-person scramble. First prize is $250!
  • Seminar 1: Medical Support at a Dynamic Threat Incident - 4:00pm - Join Dr. David Neubert at Fort William Henry as he discusses the constantly evolving relationship between law enforcement and EMS during active shooter incidents, bombings, and vehicular assaults.
  • Seminar 2: Operational Use of Social Media in Law Enforcement - 5:00pm - Join Matthew Green at Fort William Henry as he discusses all the ways your department can utilize social media from incident alerting and situational awareness to rumor management and public engagement.
  • Welcoming Ceremony - 6:00pm - Head to Shepard Park in the heart of Lake George Village for live music, food wagons, a beer & wine tent, raffles, and a cornhole tournament!
  • Dine Around - 7:00pm - Dine around town with coupons from registration.

  • Seminar 3, Block 1: Internet Safety and Public Relations for Law Enforcement Officers - 10:00am - Join Retired Detective David Chianese at Fort William Henry as he discusses the importance of PR firms in incident management and reputation management in today’s modern policing.
  • Seminar 4, Block 2: Combating School Violence and Active Shooters - 10:00am - Join Chief Frederick Mills at Fort William Henry as he discusses proactive approaches and use of all school district staff, from the superintendent, administrative staff, instructors, support staff, and students, as well as outside resources to minimize the risk of a violent event occurring in your school.
  • Seminar 5, Block 1: Homegrown Violent Extremism, the Terrorist Network and Operational Funding - 11:00am - Join Detective Ray McPartland at Fort William Henry as he discusses the role of local law enforcement in the search of homegrown violent extremists, terrorist financing done through your local corner store, and its impact on long and short term terrorist operations.
  • Seminar 6, Block 2: Recognizing Stress and Preventing Suicide Within the Law Enforcement Family - 11:00am - Join Retired Detective Eric Potts, Certified Prevention Counselor, at Fort William Henry as he discusses the reasons for stress upon an officer and family members, recognition of stress and signs of suicidal thoughts, and ways of coping with stress and preventing suicide. *This event is open to all attendees and guests*
  • Shooting Competition - 11:00am - Bring your own ammunition to the Hudson Falls Shooting Range and prove you're the top marksman! Grand prize is $250.
  • Lunch on the Town - 12:00pm - Explore the shops and restaurants in Lake George Village.
  • Golf Tournament: Second Group - 1:00pm - Head to Top of the World Golf Resort for the two-person scramble. First prize is $250!
  • Happy Hour - 5:00pm - Grab a few drinks and enjoy the entertainment and K9 demonstrations at Fort William Henry and around Lake George Village!
  • Boat Cruise & Dinner - 6:00pm-7:30pm - Take a cruise around the lake while enjoying dinner, live music, a fundraiser, and gorgeous views of Lake George.
  • Fundraiser, Comedy Show, and Live Music - 6:00pm-10:00pm - Head to King Neptune's Pub for drinks, laughs, a Chinese auction, a 50/50 raffle, and a tap takeover! *Adults only*
  • Night on the Town - 7:30pm-9:30pm - Fun family activities in Lake George Village!
  • Gala Fireworks Display - 9:45pm - Check out the show from anywhere in Lake George Village with a view of the lake. The best spot is Shepard Park.
