Celebrating our 60th year in 2022! 

The Lake George Winter Carnival has celebrated Adirondack family fun every winter since 1961.

We ask that you please adhere to all COVID-19 CDC guidelines while visiting us at the LGWC!

Every Saturday and Sunday in February, winter enthusiasts flock to Lake George Village to watch, support, and participate in the cook-offs, races, tournaments, games and other activities on the ice and around the village.

The Opening Ceremonies and the parade along Canada Street take place on the first weekend kicking off the annual Carnival.

Looking for something fun to do on a Saturday or Sunday? The Lake George Winter Carnival has the Polar Plunge, pony rides, helicopter rides, horse-drawn carriage rides, Lake George Dog's Got Talent Show, children's activities, and face painting every Saturday and Sunday.

Hit the Hot Chocolate Bar at the Beach, and make S'mores at the Beach every Saturday. Make sure you don't leave before the fireworks blast off!

MYO (Make Your Own) ice cream sundae every Sunday during the Carnival!

More fun and lively entertainment include Outhouse Races, Cook-offs, 4x4 truck races, an ATV Poker run, ice diving demonstrations, the Glacier Golf Tournament, and so much more!

Every Saturday & Sunday throughout February

That’s right, these events and activities are so much fun that you can enjoy them every single Saturday and Sunday in February!

12:00PM – Cornhole Games: Grab some friends and play a few games of cornhole! Hosted by Blue Thirty-Two (518) 685-3539.

12:00PM-3:00PM – Children’s Activities: Enjoy a variety of arts, crafts, games and face painting fun to keep your little ones happy and occupied! Activities will be held at participating locations around town.

12:00PM-3:00PM – Pony Rides: Ride a pony at Shepard Park for a small fee.

12:00PM – Wood Carving Demos by: "Woodchuck" the Carver: Come to Shepard Park, and be amazed by the incredible creations that are made out of trees right from our very own Adirondacks!

2:00PM – Lake George Dogs Got Talent Contest: This is a crowd favorite! Bring your doggie friends and showcase their skills. Prizes will be given to those pups that get the most “A-PAWS”! Hosted by The Dog Cabin.

3:00PM – Polar Plunge: We know it’s cold, but if you can handle it, we invite you to take a dip into Lake George! The registration and plunge will take place on the beach at Shepard Park. Remember your towel and dry clothes!

Throughout each day – Bonfire on the Beach: Visit us to get warm at Shepard Park Beach!

Saturday - Weekend 1

12:00PM – Opening Ceremonies: It’s our 60th year celebrating the Lake George Winter Carnival, and we want you to join us for the opening ceremonies on the MacDonald Pier in Shepard Park!

12:30PM ('til it's gone!) – Chili Cook Off: We're kicking off the 1st cook off of the season with....Chili!! Various Lake George restaurants will put their best chili on display, and you get to be the judge and vote for your favorite! It's the perfect way to warm you up inside, on a chilly afternoon! It's a small fee for tasting and judging, right at the Shepard Park Amphitheater.

1:00PM – Outhouse Races: An annual Lake George Winter Carnival tradition! Come and see the wacky costumes, unique architecture, and crazy antics at this wild event with the whole family. The races will take place on the ice off Shepard Park, so it'll be easy to see all of the action. There'll be $2000 in prizes at this annual must-see event! Registration will be held at The Lagoon at 9:30 a.m.; Call (518) 685-5009 for additional information.

2:00PM-4:00PM – Make Your Own Snow Tie-Dyed T-Shirts: For a fee, you can enjoy this unique experience using tie-dye and snow! It's a ton of fun, and always a nice surprise when you reveal your masterpiece! It's while supplies last! You'll find this located at the Souvenir Tent in Shepard Park.

4:00PM – Lake George Winter Carnival Parade: This iconic winter parade marches down the center of town in Lake George. Starting from Fort William Henry and ending at Amherst Street, the parade is not to be missed! So bundle up, grab some coffee or hot cocoa, and line the street with family and friends!

5:30PM (‘til they're gone!) – S’mores at the Beach: We have a warm fire and all the fixings for some ooey-gooey s’mores! Devour them while they last on the beach at Shepard Park. S'mores are free!

5:30PM (‘til they're gone!) – Hot Chocolate Bar: The best way to stay warm in the winter is with hot chocolate. Stand around the fire on the beach at Shepard Park and sip some hot chocolate topped with all of your favorite fixings! This Lake George Winter Carnival staple includes a souvenir mug for a fee.

7:00PM – Fireworks: This annual show over the Lake is the best possible way to end a day at the Winter Carnival! Enjoy the spectacular view along the shores of the lake.

Sunday - Weekend 1

12:00PM (‘til gone!) – Make Your Own Sundae Fun Day!: Munch on a free ice cream sundae of your own creation with all your favorite toppings! Join us on the beach at Shepard Park for this tasty event. Ice cream from Stewart's Shops.

12:00PM – Karaoke/Open Mic: Come one, come all! Show off your talents right at the Shepard Park Amphitheater. This is always a great time with the family, and anyone is welcome to sing!

2:00PM – Super Bowl Sunday Warm-Up Keg Toss: Think you’ve got the strength it takes to toss a keg? Sign up for this competition by 1:45pm at the souvenir tent near Shepard Park and show us what you've got! There's nothing like this event to get amped up for the Super Bowl. All ages are welcome! 

Saturday - Weekend 2

9:00AM – ATV Poker Run: Bring your ATV and compete. Registration is between 9:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m. at Bebob's Backstreet BBQ. Participants must bring their driver’s license and their vehicle must be insured and registered. Call (518) 685-5027 for more information.

12:30PM (‘til it's gone!) – BBQ Cook Off: The second cook off of the season is....BBQ!! The best restaurants in Lake George compete for your vote in this BBQ cook off at Shepard Park Amphitheater. For a small fee you can try all of the BBQ in town and vote for your favorite!

12:00PM-3:00PM – Ice Diving Demonstration: Watch professional divers explore the frigid waters of Lake George off Shepard Park Beach. This event is ice dependent.

2:00PM-4:00PM – Make Your Own Snow Tie-Dyed T-Shirts: For a fee you can enjoy this unique experience using tie-dye and snow! It's a ton of fun, and always a nice surprise when you reveal your masterpiece! It's while supplies last! You'll find this located at the Souvenir Tent in Shepard Park.

Watch as brave competitors take to the ice to test their automobiles against the competition in this all-out race on the lake. Competitors have 30 minutes to complete their figure and need to use the provided “snowman kit" (for a fee). When the timer sounds, judging to determine which team will be crowned the “2022 Lake George Winter Carnival Best Snowman Builder” will begin. Do you have what it takes?! This event is held at Shepard Park. Limited entries available! 

Saturday - Weekend 3

12:30PM (‘til it's gone) – Chowder Cook Off: Our third cook off is a tough one. It's the Chowder cook off! The best restaurants in Lake George bring their delicious creations, and compete for your vote at Shepard Park Amphitheater. For a small fee you can taste all of the best chowder in town and vote for the most delicious.

2:00pm – LGWC Woman's Skillet Toss: Join the 2nd annual woman's skillet toss event! All ages are welcome to join in tossing the iron skillets. Sign-ups must be made by 1:45pm at the Souvenir Tent in Shepard Park. 

3:00PM-4:00PM – Do You Wanna Build a Snowman Contest: Bring your friends and family to compete and build the coolest snowman of 2022.
