Listen to world-class jazz musicians perform on the shores of Lake George!

Jazz at the Lake combines spectacular jazz with the magical beauty of Lake George. Brought to Lake George Village for the 35th year by the Lake George Arts Project, this contemporary jazz festival includes performances by some of the most talented jazz musicians in the world. They entertain for two days at the Shepard Park Amphitheater, a stunning lakeside venue in Lake George Village.

This completely free event begins on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm and includes a special Saturday evening performance at 7:30 pm. The music continue on Sunday beginning at 1:00 pm.

Pack a picnic lunch, bring a blanket or folding chair, and kick back and enjoy the wonderful music these talented performers create.

Saturday - September 15

Day one of Jazz at the Lake: Lake George Jazz Weekend:

  • Robert "Bootsie" Barnes Quartet - 1:00 pm - Jazz saxaphonist Robert "Bootsie" Barnes, is known as “the man with the ‘Tenor Touch’ because of his dynamic style on the tenor sax. His smooth and distinct sound is easily recognizable whether softly caressing a ballad, or swinging hard, during live performances or on CD."
  • Ryan Keberle & Catharsis - 2:45 pm - Trombonist and composer Ryan Keberle combines his "wealth of influence and experience into a bold group sound with the debut of his pianoless quartet, Catharsis. Culminating in an approach rich with melodic invention, heavy groove, and a subtle indie rock sensibility..."
  • Charlie Sepúlveda & the Turn Around - 4:30 pm - "World-class trumpeter, composer, bandleader, educator, and Latin Grammy winner, Charlie Sepulveda stands as one of the few remaining pivotal figures in Latin jazz music today."
  • Jason Miles: Celebrating the Music of Weather Report - 7:30 pm - "Jason Miles has not only helped shape the landscape of contemporary jazz, but also brought his rich sonic textures as a keyboardist, arranger and producer to artists in a multitude of genres, from R&B/pop to Latin jazz."

  • Paul McCandless with Charged Particles - 1:00 pm - Multi-instrumentalist Paul McCandless, "is one of few expert jazz oboists and also plays bass clarinet, English horn, and soprano saxophone."
  • Jim Ridl Quartet - 2:45 pm - Jim Ridle is "a jazz pianist, composer, arranger and teacher residing in the New York City area. He performs internationally with the Jim Ridl Trio and Quartet..."
  • Sharel Cassity: Elektra with Ingrid Jensen - 4:30 pm - "Acclaimed saxophonist, bandleader & composer Sharel Cassity explores new directions with her project "Elektra." Blending various genres including soul, jazz, rock, gospel, hip hop & electronica, Elektra's mission is to create groove based creative music that appeals to a modern audience."
