Don’t miss Drum Corps at East Field in Glens Falls - a family musical entertainment tradition since 1981!
The beloved Drum Corps International-sanctioned event returns this summer, bringing musical talent, passion, athleticism and excitement to fans and spectators of all ages!
After a very successful rebirth in 2018 with 4 performing corps, the 2019 lineup includes 7 corps from Florida to Québec and points in between. This year's Open Class corps lineup features: Raiders of Burlington, New Jersey; 7th Regiment of New London, Connecticut; Legends of Kalamazoo, Michigan; Spartans of Nashua, New Hampshire; Southwind of Mobile, Alabama; Heatwave of Inverness, Florida; and Les Stentors of Sherbrooke, Québec, Canada.
A Drum and Bugle Corps is a marching ensemble comprised of brass and percussion instruments, synthesizers, and a choreographed color guard. Spectators to the Glens Falls Music Academy Showcase can expect vibrant on-field adaptations of jazz, new age, classical, and rock for a full night of music for the whole family!
Chris Reed, Jr. of the Glens Falls Music Academy revived the event in 2018 in an effort to “ … elevate the musical cultural awareness in our region.” Reed believes this event is a great way to expose kids and adults alike to a high caliber musical experience.
Rehearsals are open to the public at no charge and will be held at Crandall Park in Glens Falls as well as Greenwich, Salem, and Hudson Falls High Schools where the corps are encamped. Rehearsal times will be posted on the Glens Falls Music Academy's Facebook page as the event nears.
Tickets are available in person or online at the Cool Insuring Arena box office, or at the gate at East Field the night of the event. There is a $5 parking charge at East Field. Full concessions available.
