Competitive sporting events are a growing attraction in the Lake George Area. From triathlon festivals to obstacle courses there’s always an event that will give athletes something to train for.
The Lake George Area is a great place for a competitive sporting event. When you’re running, cycling or even swimming in an environment like the Adirondacks you know it’s going to be amazing. If you’re a multi-sport athlete you’re going to want to check out the Lake George Triathalon Festival. Held in early September, this annual event features an Olympic distance triathlon as well as a half-iron distance event. There are other races around the region such as the Adirondack 15k Race to the Lakes, ADK 5k, and obstacle races the Countryman Challenge 5k in Queensbury and the Glens Falls Urban Assault, a 3.5-mile obstacle course in Glens Falls.
You’re going to need your rest so stay in a comfortable Lake George area hotel, conveniently located close to the race. You’ll want to fuel up before and after the big race, so grab a table at a local restaurant. Stay an extra day or two after the race and explore one of the many Lake George events or try a new activity. If you need to relax and unwind after months of training there’s always a local craft brewery to help you refuel.
