- This event has passed.
Great family fun! Learn about the history and techniques of snowshoeing at Up Yonda!
Guided snowshoe hikes will be led at 10:30am and 1:30pm by an Up Yonda Naturalist. Hikes are about 1.25 miles in length, and include a stop at their scenic vista point over Lake George. We’ll take a hike on the trails looking for signs of animal activity. Commonly seen tracks include fox, white-tailed deer, turkey, squirrel, crow, and more.
A campfire and hot chocolate will be available near the Farmhouse. Reservations are recommended, same-day reservations are available on a first-come first-served basis. Snowshoe rentals and group rates available. The program is suitable for children who are able to walk a mile of gradual uphill terrain, typically ages 5 and up.
Come enjoy the property during one of the most beautiful and serene times of the year. Adequate snow cover is required for snowshoeing – we’ll do a hike instead.
Reservations are recommended via nonrefundable reservation deposit of $1/person.
Up Yonda Farm Environmental Education Center is where you will find the natural beauty of the Adirondacks on 73-acres with a spectacular view of Lake George.
