About Gail Danforth and the exhibit:
Gail Danforth is a retired social worker who has enjoyed capturing nature through her camera lens. Her sonsโ encouragement to share her work led to designing jewelry inspired by photographs and the creation of Adirondack PhotoCraft. While photographing a loon pair on Loon Lake six years ago, she observed what she learned later was a Loon Courtship Dance. The pair were dipping their bills in the water, throwing their heads up to the sky, diving and flapping their wings in unison. Capturing that moment lead to a photographic journey of chronicling the pair and their loonlets that season until they migrated in the fall to their winter home. Her photographs features the life history of loons, and that background supported the educational component. The partnership between the artist and the Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation (ACLC), provides the community with a stunning, rare close-up of natural beauty and knowledge. With support from the Stewardship & Outreach Director, Beth Boos, through the exhibit she has been able to bring this gallery to new heights.
Location: Town of Chester Public Library is on the second floor of the Municipal Center at 6307 State Route 9 Chestertown, NY
This exhibit will open for viewing during the entire month of September.
