New for 2023 – Our ‘Live & Local: Songwriter’s Showcase’ is an intimate evening featuring some of the Capital Region’s favorite songwriters. Hosted by performer, producer and engineer, Josh Morris (Josh Morris Band, Girl Blue and more), these ‘artist-in-the-round’ performances will give audiences the opportunity to hear local musicians’ songs and the stories behind them.

- January 26 – Reese Fulmer & The Carriage House Band
- The band is as much a concept as it is a performing entity: a fluid and evolving group of top tier regional musicians who add their creativity and vision to Reese’s original music, both on stage and in the studio. This unique approach offers constant inspiration and new discoveries, often realized in real time during a show, and allows for flexibility to fit the environment of any venue or setting. The Carriage House Band has appeared in duo, trio, quartet, 5- and 6-piece format, and has featured artists including Chris Carey, James Gascoyne, Andy Arnold, Connor Dunn, Dustin DeLuke, Julia Alsarraf, JP Hubbs, Orion Kribs, Bobby Kendall, Chris Bloniarz, Matt Griffin, Connor Armbruster, Paul Guay, and Sara Milonovich.
- February 9 – Live & Local: Songwriter’s Showcase featuring Josh Morris
- Josh occupies a musical space that defies genre and expectation. He was handed a pair of drumsticks at age 5 and since then, he has transformed into a titan of musical potential. At 25, he is now a multi-instrumental songwriter, producer, session musician, and touring musician. His music can uniquely be described as “Sounds For the Many”. There is something for everyone in his writing. Whether you’re looking for a vulnerable Singer/Songwriter with uncertainty about the future, a Hard Rock connoisseur, an Indie kid with DIY roots, or a Stevie Wonder enthusiast with an affinity for Funk and Soul, you can find it all here. Josh wears many hats but they all fit his head. So dive in, you may love what you find.
- March 9 – Cricket Blue
- Laura Heaberlin and Taylor Smith are musicians, sure, but they’re storytellers too. The eleven songs on their debut album Serotinalia feature a cast of characters right out of a short story collection. A listless grocery store clerk. A woman obsessed with her milkman. A harvest deity who is ritually murdered every fall. Oh, and a pair of scissors. When the pair first met as members of a Middlebury College a cappella group, both were individually-performing singer-songwriters. After graduation, they each got involved in the folk scene in Burlington, Vermont, often splitting bills. As they worked out more and more duets to add variety to these sets, Heaberlin and Smith accidentally slipped into being a duo. They made it official in the summer of 2013 and formed Cricket Blue. Two acclaimed EPs resulted, leading to Paste magazine dubbing Cricket Blue one of the “10 Vermont Bands You Should Listen To Now.” Vermont’s alternative weekly Seven Days called them “indie folk with soul and intellect,” naming their last EP one of the year’s best albums, and they’ve played stages and folk festivals around the United States and Canada. But it took Heaberlin and Smith five years to record their first full-length. They write slowly, they say, filling pages of notebooks with ideas about a certain character before gradually condensing it into a song. “If you just write about yourself all the time, you’re limited in what you’re able to say,” says Heaberlin. “So I create a character that comes from an emotionally true space but I’m able to tailor their circumstances to better build the point I’m trying to make.”
- March 23 – HEARD
- Heard is a collective of musicians that bring their skills and passion for world music, jazz and improvising together to create irresistible grooves set in a unique sonic tapestry. Together for a decade, their vibrant sound incorporates influences from West Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean and beyond. Their debut CD Karibu reached #15 on the WorldJazz charts and 2018’s daring Flyway is similarly garnering much critical acclaim. Heard is a 3 time Eddy Music Awards nominee in the World Music category. Energetic & upbeat, Heard will open your ears & hearts.. and get you up and dancing! Our core quintet includes Jonathan Greene (woodwinds), Bobby Kendall (bass), Brian Melick (drums), Zorkie Nelson (percussion/vocals), and Elizabeth Woodbury Kasius (keyboard/vocals). We also often feature amazing special guests, including: Augustina Nelson (dance/percussion/vocals), and Fosino Nelson (dance/percussion/vocals) Melora Creager (cello), Aston “Robot” Ellis (steel drums), Nate Giroux (woodwinds), George Muscatello (guitar), Lou Smaldone (bass) and Rich Syracuse (bass).
- April 15 – Shu’s 30th Anniversary Party
- Since 1993, Shu has been molding the sounds of the universe into something to which drunken hippies can dance. A sort of hybrid ska/rock/funk/jam group who incessantly toured the 1990’s college circuit, Shu still makes appearances on the stages of Upstate NY a few times per year.
- April 27 – E.R.I.E.
- E.R.I.E. came on to the Albany, NY scene in 2020, the week a global pandemic began to rear its ugly head. What began as a passion project developed while singer/songwriter TJ Foster was unexpectedly laid up in a hospital bed for three days, has turned into a fully-formed quartet, winning over audiences with their catchy songs and energetic live performances. Their debut album, “Don’t Wanna Live, Don’t Wanna Die” (on Mint 400 Records), takes listeners on a journey through existentialism, mortality, and the universal challenge of trying to make the most of our time here. The band – guitarist Matt Delgado, drummer Chad Flewwelling and bassist Levi Jennes alongside Foster – is currently writing and recording the follow-up at home in Upstate New York.
