It’s Live and Local at the Park!

Listen to talented artists perform their own music ranging from Americana, Folk, Jazz, Bluegrass, and more!

The monthly  ‘Live & Local: Songwriter’s Showcase is an intimate evening featuring some of the Capital Region’s favorite songwriters. Hosted by performer, producer and engineer, Josh Morris (Josh Morris Band, Girl Blue and more), these ‘artist-in-the-round’ performances will give audiences the opportunity to hear local musicians’ songs and the stories behind them.

Below is The Park Theater‘s lineup for the 2024 season!

  • January 11 – Rhoseway
    • “Upstate NY-based RHOSEWAY is the creative project from singer and songwriter Rob Fleming, accompanied by drummer Matt Niedbalski and bassist Steve Kirsty. Effectually layered dynamic and melodic droning, in the form of indie-alternative rock, described sonically with leanings towards Jeff Buckley and Radiohead, to Soundgarden and Neil Young. Riding on 3 separate releases of dual-singles, the latest being the harmonious lush of 2022’s COUNTRY SUNRISE, and up-tempo guitar flourishings of 2023’s CLOAK & DAGGER.”
  • January 25 – Live & Local: Songwriter’s Showcase with Josh Morris
    • Featuring songwriters: Erin Harkes, Natalie Santini & Andy Arnold (of Little Saints), and Matt Plummer (of Bendt)
  • January 27 – Reese Fuller & The Carriage
    • The band is as much a concept as it is a performing entity: a fluid and evolving group of top tier regional musicians who add their creativity and vision to Reese’s original music, both on stage and in the studio. This unique approach offers constant inspiration and new discoveries, often realized in real time during a show, and allows for flexibility to fit the environment of any venue or setting. The Carriage House Band has appeared in duo, trio, quartet, 5- and 6-piece format, and has featured artists including Chris Carey, James Gascoyne, Andy Arnold, Connor Dunn, Dustin DeLuke, Julia Alsarraf, JP Hubbs, Orion Kribs, Bobby Kendall, Chris Bloniarz, Matt Griffin, Connor Armbruster, Paul Guay, Sara Milonovich, Jimi Woodul, Katie Weissman, and Joe Woodul.
  • February 29 – Zan & The Winter Folk
    • Zan & The Winter Folk is an Americana band from Troy, NY. Led by Zan Strumfeld, they create anthems for the revivalists, lullabies for the lonely, and ballads for the hopeful. Vacillating between an acoustic quartet — two guitars, banjo and upright bass — and a rocking quintet with drums, the Winter Folk blend an upbeat, rootsy spirit with a melodic longing and vulnerability in their storytelling. Since forming in 2017, they have played at festivals, music halls and living rooms. With a captivating sound and comedic banter, The Winter Folk reveal a unique and intimate performance wherever they play. The band has two EPs, “How To Be Alone” (2019) and “Your Girl No More” (2018) and will release their first full-length album in spring 2024.
