Event Series Event Series: Ice Castles

This winter, your moment of imagination, exploration, and magic awaits at Winter Realms in Lake George!

Get ready for a magical experience of ice skating, stunning sculptures that will leave you in awe, beautiful light displays, cozying up at the warming stations, and more!

This brand new event, from Ice Castles, is less weather dependent and even more enchanting and magical!

Tickets for the season go on sale November 1, and will be sold online. Ticket pricing:

  • Off Peak – General $17, Child $14 (4-11 years old), children ages 0-3 do not require a ticket.
  • Peak (Friday-Sunday and 12/14/23, 1/1/24, 1/15/24, 1/29/24, 2/19/24 – 2/23/24) – General $20, Child $15

The event will open on November 24 as part of the 25th annual Lite Up the Village.

Below are some of the exciting features you can expect!

  • Ice Skating – Glide along a glittering rink surrounded by glowing light displays. Spectator tables and warming stations are situated around the rink. Skate rental is included with your ice-skating ticket (additional cost). For more information on ice skating click here.
  • Ice Slide
  • Mystic Light Walk – Stroll a spellbinding path glowing with otherworldly illumination. This paved experience is approximately 850 feet or .16 miles. It’s perfect for visitors of all ages.
  • Ice Sculpture Garden – Wander among creations that sparkle like jewels in the crisp winter air. From the ice throne to the igloos, these world-class sculptures are not to be missed. Our world-class sculptures explore the rich, ancient history of the Chinese zodiac – along with other seasonal surprises!
  • Santa’s Candy Cane Court – From November 24 – December 23, stop by Candy Cane Court to share a Christmas wish with Santa and take a festive photo.
  • Snowman Park – Come frolic in the snow, make some snow angels, and sculpt your own snowman in our interactive snow park – where the joy of winter comes alive. From coal eyes to pointy carrot noses and more, decorations for your frosty friend are provided free of charge.
  • Picnic Plaza – Cozy up around the heaters at our outdoor warming stations. While you thaw out, indulge your appetite with a sweet or savory treat. These wintertime delicacies will leave you craving more.
  • Arctic Alcove (VIP experience) – Soak up some luxury with a private booking in your own secluded alcove. This exclusive VIP experience is perfect for proposals and other milestone moments. Coming soon.

This event will be open Friday – Sunday November 24, 2023 – March 3, 2024 and on holidays (except Christmas). December 14 – January 1 the event will be open every day. Located at The Festival Commons.

Please note:

  • For photoshoot guidelines click here. Professional photographers must check-in with the Event Manager upon arrival.
  • Pets that are not deemed service animals are not allowed at this event
  • Items that are prohibited include: outside food or beverages, drones, tripod/monopod stands and lighting equipment for cameras. The full list can be found here.
  • Prohibited activities 
  • The Mystic Light Walk does contain lasers and strobe lights, but there is an option to bypass it. If someone in your party is sensitive to lighting effects in any way, we suggest not visiting Winter Realms. 
  • Is Winter Realms accessible to guests with mobility disabilities? Thanks to the flat pathways throughout the event that are paved in some areas, and covered by high-quality rubber mats in other areas, Winter Realms is wheelchair accessible. Some areas, like the snow park and picnic plaza are located just off of the path and on the ground which may or may not be covered in snow. While our dedicated crews work diligently to maintain these areas, pushing wheeled means of transport through them may be difficult. Click here for more information.
  • Once you have exited Winter Realms, you cannot re-enter.
  • Shoes with high heels or flat soles can be slippery and not recommended. For more on what’s best to wear, click here.
