This exhibit, in the Chapman Museum‘s Stoddard Gallery, can be viewed from April 25 – July 9.
From the mid-19th century to the introduction of the automobile in the early 20th century, steamboats were an efficient way to transport goods and people. During this period, steamboat travel soared in popularity with summer tourists destined for remote locations, some accessible only by water.
The Chapman is open for visitors Tuesday to Saturday, 10am-4pm and Sunday, noon-4pm.
