Celebrate the 70th anniversary of the opening of The Fort William Henry Museum!

The Fort William Henry Hotel is bringing back the “Battles and Beverages” that will include reenactments from the French and Indian War on Lake George Battlefield Park. The Sutlers Fair and Reenactor Meet will feature sutlers, authentic crafts and reenactor groups from historical periods. After each reenactment there will be soup, sandwiches and hot beverages. Visitors will be able to sample and purchase products from local wineries, breweries and distillers. The reenactments will conclude with a guest speaker, Dr. Steven C. Eames (history professor, reenactor and author). Bring along guests to spectate!


  • 9:30am-5:00pm – Fair and Meet in the Conference Center
  • 11:00am-1:00pm – French and Indian War reenactments and Battlefield Visitor Center is open
  • 3:00pm – Clifford Oliver Mealy will discuss how Katrina Mabee wrote to the Continental Army for compensation of their use of her “Negro Man Jack, a team of horses and a wagonload of store goods.” in 1757
  • 7:00pm – Dr. Steven C. Eames will speak about warfare along the Northeastern frontier during the French and Indian Wars
