For months you’ve been dreaming of that special getaway to the lake or mountains for some much needed fresh air and relaxation. Let us make that dream come true. Our local businesses have been working hard to create as safe an environment as possible for you, your family and friends. All you have to do is work out the details. From a lakeside cottage to an RV park, whitewater rafting to parasailing, hiking to horseback riding, we’ve got the ingredients to help you create the most memorable vacation ever. So, don’t put it off another minute. The Lake George Area is waiting for you!

Boat Launches, Boat Rentals, and Kayak Rentals

The boat launches and wash stations at Norowal Marina in Bolton Landing and Million Dollar Beach in Lake George are both open! If you have your own boat, you're able to launch.

Marinas are renting boats! Please expect social distancing guidelines, face masks, and sanitizing practices to be in place at Lake George Area marinas.

Kayak rentals are also open. Please expect social distancing guidelines, face masks, and sanitizing practices to be in place at Lake George Area kayak rental locations.

Camping

Many Private campgrounds, including RV campgrounds, are open and operating at 50% occupancy throughout the fall. Some activities and amenities may be restricted. Please maintain social distancing and follow best practices if you choose to go camping. Call individual campgrounds for more details.

Factory Outlet Shopping

The Factory Outlets of Lake George are open for business! These stores offer insane discounts on brand name goods. Masks are required when shopping inside a store.

Fishing Charters

Fishing charters are open throughout the fall. Whether you're new to fishing or a seasoned veteran, a fishing charter is a great way to land a keeper. Please expect social distancing guidelines and best practices to be in place on fishing charters.

Golf and Mini-Golf

Golf courses are open in the Lake George Area through the fall. These challenging Adirondack courses are perfect for tightening up your swing, working your putts, or just whacking a few balls into the woods. Miniature golf is open as well through the fall!

Hiking

The majority of the hiking trails are open in the Lake George Area year-round. There's no better way to explore the Adirondacks. Please follow social distancing guidelines and best practices while hiking.

Horseback Riding

Visitors to the Lake George Area can now go horseback riding. Explore a beautiful trail during a guided ride led by an experienced instructor. Please expect social distancing guidelines, including wearing a mask, to be in place.

Lake George Boat Cruises

The Lake George Steamboat Company is sailing daily. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines are in place. Contact Lake George Steamboat Company for more details!

Shoreline Cruises is offering a variety of cruises daily with special guidelines in place.

Outdoor Adventure

Natural Stone Bridge & Caves Park is open through mid-October! Explore the largest cave entrance in the east at this amazing geological spot. Call for their exact hours.

Outdoor ropes courses are officially open! Spend a day exploring the tree tops with friends and family at Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course. Weekends only through November.

Head to West Mountain explore their mountain biking trails and aerial adventure course! If you're in the northern portion of the Lake George Area, check out Gore Mountain's mountain biking trails and Gondola rides!

Head to North Creek and check out Revolution Rail Co! Pedal a railbike through lush Adirondack forest and over the mighty Hudson River.

Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course

You can take a drive up Prospect Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway, and see gorgeous views of Lake George!

Please note: The shuttle will not be operating. The public restrooms will be closed but there will be portable toilets. View scopes have been dismantled.


Restaurants and Retail Outlets

Restaurants are able to serve customers both indoors and outdoors. Those eating outdoors are required to wear a mask unless they are sitting at their table. Indoor capacity is limited to 50% and a mask is required unless sitting at a table. Diners must order food in order to order alcohol.

Many restaurants are serving takeout, pickup, and delivery food throughout the Lake George Area. Some waterfront restaurants are offering dock service for boaters.

Many retail shops are open for in-store shopping and curbside pickup.


Whitewater Rafting

Whitewater rafting is now open in the Lake George Area! Ride the raging Hudson River or the more relaxing Sacandaga River. Social distancing restrictions apply. Contact your favorite rafting company for more details and hours.
