When you visit the Lake George Area you need to explore Lake George herself. These boats will reveal every nook and cranny.

No Boat? No Worries. You Can Get on the Water

Lake George Steamboat Company

Boat cruises range from a one-hour tour to a full day trip up the length of the lake and back and may include brunch, entertainment or a fireworks spectacular! The Lake George Steamboat Company has been sailing on Lake George since 1817. That’s right, two centuries! The current fleet of three ships offers cruises ranging from the one-hour cruise to 4 1/2-hours. The paddlewheeler Minnie-Ha-Ha, whose name means “laughing waters,” offers a one-hour cruise that’s just right for the little ones and a fireworks cruise on Thursday evenings in July and August. The Mohican, which happens to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places, sails on a Paradise Bay trip, Island Exploration Cruise and a full Lake George cruise. The largest ship on the lake, the Lac du Saint Sacrement, was launched in 1989. Her name means “Lake of the Blessed Sacrament,” the original name given to the lake by the Jesuit priest, Isaac Jogues. The Saint offers brunch and dinner cruises and can host up to 400 people for a private party.

Big Boats Are a Bunch of Fun

the Horicon

Lake George Shoreline Cruises features two ships that provide narrated sightseeing tours as well as historic, entertainment, dinner and fireworks cruises. The Horicon is an 85-foot double-deck wooden boat built of mahogany, teak, and yellow pine. It can accommodate 150 guests. And did you know this? The Horicon welcomes well-behaved dogs on their one-hour sightseeing cruise. Fido will thank you for taking him along! The Adirondac is a 115-foot luxury ship that can seat 200 people for fine dining on the first level, and another 200 on the top deck. The Adirondac even offers a New Year’s Day Frostbite Cruise!

The Morgan is The Sagamore Resort’s 72-foot replica of a 19th-century touring vessel. Guests at the hotel can sail with just a reservation and the public is welcome to buy tickets for sightseeing cruises. The Morgan sails for 1-1/2 hours through the gorgeous Narrows section of the lake.
