Time Magazine's 20 Best Places to Go in 2018 write-up digs deep, trying to find you the best values for their readers. Each location offers amazing activities that cannot be missed while ensuring that you're not going to break the bank. They use dozens of sources to narrow down the best possible vacation spots they can find. While some spots might not be the cheapest location on the map, there's no doubt that each and every location is worthwhile, and we're proud to be recognized among the best.
Since we're on the brink of vacation planning season, it's time to start thinking about visiting the Lake George Area. Time's article calls out Lake George Village, hyping its small-town vibe that comes alive when summer rolls around. Even better, Lake George Village sits on the shores of Lake George, one of the purest and most beautiful bodies of water in the country. The magazine encourages visitors to check out spooky ghost tours at the Fort William Henry Museum, take a 6-mile railbike tour of the Adirondacks with Revolution Rail Co., and drink a few pints of craft beer at the Adirondack Pub & Brewery.
While those activities are truly awesome, there's way more that goes into creating a must-go destination. While you're here, plan on attending iconic events, screaming your head off on a roller coaster at the Great Escape, lounging on sandy beaches in the sun, living luxuriously at lakeside resorts, discovering the stunning mountains on a cruise ship, conquering wild hiking trails in the southern Adirondacks, and strolling the vibrant streets of Lake George Village.
If you haven't sat down and started planning your summer vacation, it's time to plan your getaway to the Lake George Area.
