As much as you love Mom, you know she loves you even more.  There is probably nothing she'd rather do than spend some quality time with YOU!  Check out these family-friendly ideas!

Cruise Lake George

For some relaxation, a snack (or full meal) and spectacular views, hop aboard a steamboat and cruise up and down Lake George. The views are incredible, the breeze warm and refreshing and the scene tranquil. Choose from two different companies right in Lake George Village - Lake George Steamboat Company and Shoreline Cruises

Take a beach day! Swim, play and relax in the sun. Bring some cold drinks and a few pails and shovels. Spend a few hours or the whole day! Recently renovated with plenty of beach space, ample parking and great facilities, the Lake George Beach is the perfect spot to make a day of it. Looking for something more out of the way? Rogers Memorial Park in Bolton Landing and Hague Town Beach are pristine and quiet.

Six Flags The Great Escape

Is Mom up for some thrills? Treat her to a day of coasters, Ferris wheels, shows and a water park all in one!  Six Flags Great Escape & Hurricane Harbor is open weekends from in May and October and full time for the summer. Tip: if you go on a Friday - stay for the sunset fireworks!

We're in the Adirondacks and there is no shortage of parks and pavilions to take Mom for a picnic. Walk through a downtown community and grab something to go or stop by a Farmers' Market for fresh ingredients to fix yourself. Go by car, boat or foot. The possibilities and opportunities for crafting your own unique picnic experience are endless.

They carry fresh plants for Mom's garden or porch and many gift items as well.  Looking for something a bit more crafty?  Head to a country store like The Silo. It's packed with unique handmade items. Stay for breakfast or lunch to enjoy some downright delicious fare and fresh cider donuts!

Little City in the Big Woods

Downtown Glens Falls has a walkable downtown district packed with shops, restaurants and galleries. Take a stroll, grab some lunch and pop into shops for vintage, handmade and top designer items. For a real treat, walk or drive to The Shirt Factory, a huge maze of a building about four blocks from downtown where artists and artisans keep galleries and workshops that are often open to the public for demonstration and sales.
