One of the best aspects of the holiday season is the display of twinkling lights throughout the region. From the busy city of Glens Falls to the small town of Johnsburg, and every community in between, there's an event celebrating the season with a display of lights. If you and your family want to welcome the holiday season with a stunning display of lights, the Lake George Area has plenty of options.
Begin your holiday lights adventure in Lake George Village. While the annual Lite Up the Village event has been cancelled, there will still be an abundance of holiday lights! Shepard Park will be lit by thousands of lights, and the reflection of the lights on Lake George is always a beautiful sight to see. For more lights, you can buy tickets and reserve a spot to view over 20 festive light displays at Holiday Festival of Lights!
This year's Hometown Holidays is having houses in Glens Falls decorate for a Holiday House Contest! Why not take a drive through downtown to view all of the beautiful displays! Santa Claus will parade around town in a fire truck on Friday, December 4th a 6:00pm. You can click here for the Santa's Parade Route! There'll also be a virtual tree lighting that you can watch on the Downtown Glens Falls Facebook page.
Shops downtown will be open and decorated for the holidays. Don't forget to bring your shopping list!
Bolton Landing will be festive and bright this holiday season. Stroll down to the pier at Rogers Memorial Park to see beautiful holiday lights with Dome Island and the Sagamore Resort as the background. The tree in the park will be draped with lights as well.
Make sure to explore the town of Bolton before leaving. Stores will be open and decorated for the season!
The beautiful mountain town of Johnsburg holds their Lights on Johnsburg event just after Thanksgiving. The lights put up throughout the village of North Creek stay lit all ski season long, so make sure head into the village after skiing at Gore Mountain. The annual parade includes Christmas floats, and local businesses will be offering refreshments, wine samplings, Christmas tree sales, chocolate offerings, and more to attendees. Be sure to look for the Christmas Caboose!
Lake Luzerne's Holiday Stroll has been cancelled, but Pavilion Park will still be decked our for the holidays! Be sure to stop by the park and check out the photo spots that will be available.
This year the Town of Queensbury presents a drive thru holiday festival...Candy Cane Lane! It's for one night only on December 4th.
After December 11th you can drive by Hovey Pond Park and see the park all decked out for the holiday season!
