The Great Escape is Exhilarating!

the Steamin' Demon roller coaster

The Great Escape has flourished since its early days, expanding from a five-acre nursery rhyme-themed park to include more than 135 rides, shows, and attractions to fill your day with fun and memories. Thrills await teens and adults on The Comet, rated as one of the world’s top coasters. The 192-foot drop tower, Sasquatch, has you blasting into the air and plummeting back to the earth on dual towers. Little ones love the two children's themed areas, including Timbertown. Tykes can drive the big rigs of the Convoy or pilot their own planes on ZoomJets.

Hurricane Harbor Will Cool Things Down

The Great Escape's popular outdoor water park, Hurricane Harbor, gets bigger, better, and wetter in 2017! The all-new Bonzai Pipelines features two brightly colored body slides making it the perfect addition to Hurricane Harbor. Perched 30 feet in the air, guests will race through nearly 300 feet of banking turns uniquely designed to provide an adrenaline-charged thrill for all ages. You'll also find lazy rivers, toddler-friendly pools, rafting adventures, and high-speed water slides. Hurricane Harbor features a total of 13 water attractions and is included with the price of admission.

More than Just Rides and Slides

Paying tribute to founder Charles R. Wood, the newly renovated western sports bar named Charley's Saloon captures the history of Dan McGrew’s, Ghost Town’s original Wild West Saloon that opened in 1957. The area was originally created as a place where fathers and sons could enjoy a “root” beer together. Staying true to its intent, this season the bar will feature a Wild West theme, photos, and historical information about the park and the park’s founder, as well as a uniquely designed menu featuring snack and sandwich items, signature drinks, and various beers.

You've Probably Heard of Virtual Reality...

In partnership with Samsung Electronics America, Inc., the “Official Technology Partner of Six Flags,” The Great Escape will also offer an all-new virtual reality experience, Drop of Doom VR, for a limited time only. The area’s first-ever drop tower virtual reality attraction is a thrilling, immersive encounter that combines the fear of heights and the fear of spiders in one heart-pounding experience that only Six Flags could deliver. Drop of Doom VR makes its debut at The Great Escape in July 2017.
