Winter Activities

As the daylight gets shorter, and that first inch or two of snow falls to the ground, the Lake George Area transforms into a winter destination like no other.

Winter in the Lake George Area is exceptional. The lakes and streams that dot the region become ice fishing hotspots that can land you big lake trout or a flurry of perch. Those frozen lakes double as ice skating rinks that are perfect for pick-up hockey. Cross-country ski trails are groomed for classic and skate and some trails are lighted so you can explore at night. Snowshoe on just about any hiking trail for a winter trek you won’t soon forget.

Ski the 3 this winter! The Lake George Area has three premier ski resorts – Gore, West, and Hickory. The miles of snow-covered trails at the area’s skiing and snowboarding mountains are some of the steepest and most exhilarating runs in the East.
