Celebrate the start of spring 2018 when maple syrup producers open up their sugar houses for free tours, tastings, and demonstrations.

There is a pancake breakfast at 9am at Valley Road Maple Farm, 190 Valley Road ~ pancakes with PURE and REAL Thurman maple syrup with maple sausages from Oscar's Smokehouse.

Visit our maple producers on Maple Days which take place on Saturday and Sunday March 10-11, 17-18 and 24-25.

Martin's Lumber is a certified tree farm practicing silviculture; Lucyann's Crafts at Martin's features stained glass stepping stones and paper bead jewelry.

Nettle Meadow Farm and Artisan Cheese, is a goat and sheep farm producing award-winning artisan goat and sheep cheese. Visit with these girls and learn all about making cheese ~ be sure to try a sample ~ they are all delicious!

A couple of facts about maple syrup ~ for the best and most consistent sap production, we like to have nights in the mid to upper 20’s and then days in the upper 30’s or even 40’s. It takes about 40 gallons of maple sap to make one gallon of syrup. Peter at Up Yonda Farm shared this information with us.

The Town of Thurman is located just 20 minutes from Lake George via I-87, Adirondack Northway. Take exit 23 to New York State Route 9 to New York State Route 418 and follow the sign posts to see all the sites celebrating spring and maple season!
