Question 1 of 36: The Pleistocene Epoch began with the introduction of the glaciers. Throughout this time, several ice sheets advanced over the Lake George Area. The glaciers bulldozed, gouged, scraped and crushed the surface soils and rocks, gouged out river valleys and carried-off materials–creating a new landscape. When the last glacier crept over the area, and then melted, the features we see today were revealed. Name the last ice sheet that created the mountains, valleys and lake we see today.
