Take home a medal following a personal victory or celebrate a win from the sidelines. Enjoy some of your favorite sports in the Lake George Area.

Witness every glove save, sizzling, slapshot, and lighting fast breakaway. Support the hometown team and cheer on the ECHL Adirondack Thunder, affiliate of the NHL’s New Jersey Devils, at the Cool Insuring Arena. These hockey match-ups and center ice entertainment are perfect for a family-friendly night out in downtown Glens Falls.

The Cool Insuring Arena also hosts the Adirondack Stampede Charity Rodeo, full of heart-pounding bareback bronc riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, bull riding, and the bravest cowboys and cowgirls. Much of the same “Wild West” action can be found at the Painted Pony Rodeo, the oldest weekly rodeo in the United States.

Are you up for a fitness challenge? Swim, bike, and run along the shores of beautiful Lake George. Participate in the Lake George Triathlon Festival and earn alpha athlete status. A variety of other races are held throughout the region including bike races, road races, and snowshoe races. Annual ice fishing derbies, including those specifically for kids, are held right here in the Lake George Area as well.

Whether you’ve been training hard or are a die-hard sports fan, you won’t miss out on the action while vacationing in the Lake George Area. The Adirondack Mountains provide a scenic and challenging natural landscape to host a variety of sporting events.
