Competitive sporting events are a growing attraction in the Lake George Area. From triathlon festivals to obstacle courses there’s always an event that will give athletes something to train for.

The Lake George Area is a great place for a competitive sporting event. When you’re racing in an environment like the Adirondacks you know it’s going to be a fun event. If you’re a multi-sport athlete you’re going to want to check out the Lake George Triathalon Festival. Held in early September, this annual event features an Olympic distance triathlon as well as a half-iron distance event. There are other races around the region such as the Adirondack Distance Run and the Glens Falls Urban Assault, a 3.5-mile obstacle course in Glens Falls.

You’re going to need your rest before the race so stay in a comfortable and convenient room at area lodging properties. You’ll want to fuel up before and after the big race, so grab a table at a local restaurant. Stay an extra day or two after the race and attend an event or try a new activity. If you need to relax and unwind after months of training there’s always a local craft brewery to help you refuel.
