Lyme Away 5K
Sunday, October 22 from 8:30am to 11:30am
The 2nd Annual Lyme Away 5K will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2017 in Cole’s Woods in Glens Falls, New York. Race start will be 10:00 AM. The race is organized and run by the Lyme Action Network (www.lymeactionnetwork.org).
The Lyme Away 5K was founded by Mercedes Planavsky, Ballston Spa Class of 2017, as a high school community service project. Having a close family member with Lyme disease and with the increase in Lyme disease over the past several years, it was the perfect time to raise awareness. With a list of several organizations that would be great partners, Mercedes chose to partner with The Lyme Action Network (lymeactionnetwork.org).
The Lyme Action Network is dedicated to informing the public about Lyme and other tick-borne diseases and working to help the victims of Lyme disease through education, advocacy, scientific research, and support. The Lyme Action Network is a 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization.
The Start and Finish are located on the cinder track next to the Glens Falls YMCA. The course will run over the beautiful trails of Cole’s Woods. There are no road or pavement sections.
